Yashlok Welfare Foundation’s ongoing initiative to empower people and transform lives completes yet another successful campaign.
Yashlok Welfare Foundation delivered raincoats to the Mumbai and Maharashtra Police Department for welfare of the department.
These raincoats will protect the police personnel from heavy rains helping them to function better. The raincoats also serve as a beacon to promote messages for public interest. All the raincoats have prominently printed messages helping in creating public awareness and promoting education to follow traffic rules for road safety.
This activity is part of a larger program that is focused on Creating sustainable Livelihood through plastic waste management . Under this initiative, women and youths from underprivileged section of society receive skill development training and employment to manufacture raincoats from recycled PVC plastic. About 110 individuals have received training and employment (beneficiaries) through this initiative and it contributes to reducing plastic waste in the environment.

Since the month of April 2024, Yashlok Welfare Foundation, under the guidance of raincoat manufacturing company trained 110 unemployed underprivileged individuals who making them capable of manufacturing raincoats for the Police personnel.
All this was achieved through generous donations and support and guidance from Grihum Housing Finance Limited, IIFL Foundation and IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Company Limited.
With the help of the new skill, the well trained and experienced people who were completely clueless on what to do just six months ago, can now confidently work in any manufacturing unit they want making them self-sustainable. This truly exemplifies our firm belief that sustainable employment is the most powerful form of empowerment and we will continue to work on training, upskilling, employing and empowering the underprivileged in future as well.
